With that being said, I took my private yoga class yesterday and my instructor taught me some great stretches and strength exercises that I can practice while I'm on the trip! Who knows, maybe I can even get some of the dudes to join me in some sunrise yoga on the sand?! :-) stretching is going to be a good thing on the way down as we will be doing more miles per day on the first two days than on the way back North. All I know is that I am SO excited!!
Blake gave me his packing list that he used for his 9 day trip to baja on his GSXR, so I am going to modify that to use for my entire trip. I'm also thinking that since I will be attending my business conference calls on the trip home that I may go ahead and make it a coast to coast ride and will see if Blake and the Heidi dog want to come meet me out on the East coast to celebrate my birthday and maybe camp for a night or two. It's looking more and more like camping is out for me on my trip home since I will need almost daily access to Internet for work, but I'm ok with that for this trip. There will be many other motorcycle camping trips to come with the RX3!
Oh, and something super cool happened at work today. I was walking by a coworker's desk and noticed he had a desktop photo of a sport bike with the number 69 on it. Anyone that's into motogp will tell you that's the infamous Nicky Hayden, so I asked if that was indeed who it was and scared the crap out of my poor coworker as he had his headphones in. He looked a bit puzzled at me as I repeated myself and then he asked me if I liked motogp. I told him "more like obsessed" and that's when I made a new friend at work that I can talk motorcycle racing with! I think the Argentina race is this weekend so it looks like we will have some good stuff to talk about next week! That'll be a nice break from the crazy work days I've been having lately and it sounds like he is feeling the same way!
So on the agenda for this weekend is: figure out the packing list and start gathering all of the items on said packing list, do laundry for anything that's not clean (like the insect repelling shirt I just A found between the couch cushions tonight- I have no idea how it got there), and figure out the insurance situation. OH- I forgot to mention that. I'm having a HELL of a time finding a company to insure the RX3 for more than liability only. Only 1 company has even offered to insure, but it's for liability only. My current company, that insures both of my yamahas, refuses to insure it as its "not manufactured in the US." Don't get me started on this one... I spoke my peace already and won't waste anymore breath on it.
And I just got off the phone with my brother, who travelled to multiple continents for a few years, to get some advice from him. My brother is so amazing, I can't help but feel better just talking to him. He's so level headed and worldly now. His advice is well thought out and he speaks from experience. He's my little brother (by 15 months), but I really look up to him and admire him so much! He definitely has inspired me through his travels and he is helping to inspire my on my own travels as well. Plus, he rides motorcycles too, so I can't wait to get him on the RX3 so we can take a ride together!
Yep, feeling awesome about this trip again. Have shaken off the funk I was in and now I just want to get this adventure started!! :-)
